How to identify your insurance policy: Life or General

Individual insurance policy

Policy numbers consist of 10 digits, older policies may contain 7 or 8 digits. Policy numbers will begin with any number except 4. 

Group insurance policy 

Policy numbers begin with G1, H1 or J3 followed by 6 digits.
